Baves O
Baves O first turned heads with his debut single, “September Rush,” a record that didn’t just announce his arrival it shifted the conversation around what music coming out of Kumasi could sound like. With a lush soundscape and haunting emotion, the song became a cultural marker, breaking away from expectations and making room for a new wave of artistry in the city.
Deeply introspective yet universally resonant, Baves O’s music blends storytelling and atmosphere, pulling listeners into worlds that feel both personal and collective. His voice is his canvas, and his sound reflects a generation that’s unafraid, genre-bending, and timeless—moving fluidly between alternative R&B, neo-soul, and experimental pop with a cinematic edge.
Born Godman Owusu Obeng-Denteh, the 21-year-old singer, songwriter, and sonic visionary from Kumasi is also a self-sufficient creator who produces, records, mixes, and masters much of his own work. A skilled musician who plays piano and bass guitar, he brings rich, organic texture to every record—crafting songs by hand and leaving his fingerprints in every detail, with a vulnerability that nods to Frank Ocean, Giveon, and Daniel Caesar while pushing into fresh, unexplored territory.
